[ARCHIVED] South Park Ranger District plans prescribed burns around Lake George

Prescribed burn

Park County, CO - The US Forest Service (USFS) will begin several prescribed burns in the Lake George area Saturday, October 14th, weather permitting.  It will start with Beaver RX which includes three units totaling approximately 200 acres are planned and located approximately eight miles southwest of Lake George off County Road 100 near the Beaver Valley subdivision. 

The second prescribed burn is O'Brien and includes four units of approximately 500 acres are planned.  The project is located approximately two miles west of the town of Lake George - east of Rocky Gulch and north of Eleven Mile Canyon along Forest Roads 271 and 248.  For more information please visit:  https://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/psicc/about-forest/districts/?cid=fseprd1143866&width=full and follow along on Twitter @PSICC_NF for updates.
