McGraw Park River Project

A backhoe digging into a river

In 2011 the Park County Land & Water Trust Fund Board provided  funding to improve stream habitat along several hundred feet of the  North Fork of the South Platte River at McGraw Park in Bailey. This  project employed a variety of techniques and structures to increase the  river’s trout holding capacity at both high and low flows.

Owned by the Park County Historical Society, there is no charge to  fish at McGraw Park.  An old railroad bridge provides access across the  river and a new fishing deck has been constructed next to one of  several enhanced pools.
