Located about one mile upstream of Tarryall Reservoir, Eagle Rock is a working ranch that produces cattle and hay. Approximately 3 miles of Tarryall Creek runs through the property where restoration treatments were applied between 2003 and 2005.
The ultimate source of poor habitat and stream instability on this reach was the lack of riparian vegetation. Without healthy vegetation to maintain stream bank strength, the channel began eroding much more rapidly. The Eagle Rock Ranch restoration project therefore included improved stream stability, decreased bank erosion, and enhanced trout habitat.
Funding for the Eagle Rock Ranch Habitat Project was provided in part by the Park County Land & Water Trust Fund.
